Payment methods

PayPal

In cases of purchasing goods with PayPal payment method, at the same time as the conclusion of the online transaction, PayPal will immediately charge the amount for the purchase made.
In case of cancellation of the order, either by the Customer or in case of non-acceptance of the same by coltellerieberti.it, the amount related to the cancelled goods will be credited back to the customer’s Paypal account. The timing of re-crediting within the PayPal account depends solely on PayPal and the banking system. Once the amount has been credited back to your PayPal account, under no circumstances can coltellerieberti.it be held liable for any damages, direct or indirect, caused by delays in the actual crediting dependent on PayPal or the banking system.

coltellerieberti.co.uk reserves the right to ask the customer for additional information (e.g., landline phone number), which can determine the actual ownership of the PayPal account. In the absence of the required documentation, coltellerieberti.it reserves the right not to accept the order.

At no time during the purchase process is coltellerieberti.co.uk able to know information about the buyer’s credit card or other mode of choice within the PayPal wallet.

Credit/debit/prepaid card

The security of your data is of paramount importance to us. We use Stripe as a third-party vendor for secure processing of your credit card payments. Stripe is considered one of the most reliable and authoritative credit card financial transaction providers, having passed the audits provided by the relevant PCI supervisory institutions with PCI Service Provider Level 1 certification, the most stringent of the certification levels issued.

We do not store or retain your credit card information on our servers, as it is handled directly and exclusively by Stripe through a process called “tokenization” and stored on their secure servers. Credit card data is encrypted by Stripe on hard disk in AES-256, while the relevant decryption keys are stored in separate and distinct drives. No internal Stripe server or daemon is able to extract unencrypted data related to guarded credit cards. Stripe’s primary infrastructure that handles the storage, decryption and transmission of credit card data operates on separate equipment and does not share the relevant credentials with the various communication interfaces (API procedures, websites, etc.).

Each transaction is then handled through encrypted security protocols in SSL and HSTS formats by the Stripe software procedures included in our applications and by Stripe itself.
