The Craftsmen
At Coltellerie Berti, each knife is created by the hands of a single craftsman, by the same person.
He who starts the work, completes it.
This is the essence of the Berti Family Artisan Method, which since 1895 has perpetuated the true joy of owning an authentic craft knife by following the most genuine Tradition, ensuring a truly humane approach to work.
Starting today, each Berti knife will have the initials of the craftsman who created it engraved on the blade.
An unavoidable choice, created to enable Berti Cutlery.
To continue to bear witness, with strength, to Tradition.

DEPOSIT OF THE TRADITION OF THE BERTI FAMILY
We use steel for the blades and ox horn, boxwood and methacrylate for the handles.
Our Tradition requires that the same craftsman who initiates the creation of a knife is the one who completes it. In other words, the work is entirely manual and is not divided among several people at different stages of production.
Our Method also stipulates that each knife produced is judged by its character, given by the harmony of its shape and its minutest features, so that it fully reflects the Berti Family Tradition.
In fact, it is precisely this consistency with Tradition, combined with the non-division of labor, that transforms a simple craft knife into an authentic Berti knife, a true testimony to our heritage of Tradition.
All this constitutes the heart of the true Berti Artisan Method, which allows one to perceive, within each knife, the dedication, the handwork of a specific person and the Family Tradition. This allows us to bring the experience of working and using a knife back into an authentically human dimension.

ABOUT US.
The Berti Family has been involved in knife making for more than a century, since 1895, when David Berti opened his workshop on Via dell’Oche in Scarperia. Since then, this tradition has continued uninterruptedly.
